Building young people’s empathy and well-being in Limerick

We are honoured to partner with award winning, Limerick charity, Narrative 4. Together, our mission is to teach young people social and emotional skills and improve their overall wellbeing through the power of story telling. Stories have an innate power to create empathy in society, shatter stereotypes and break down barriers.

Our current programme is based on the principles of circle work and has been proven to increase wellbeing in the classroom and address issues around bullying and poor youth mental health. “Our City Our Story” uses story telling to bring together youth groups from divided parts of Limerick City to address cultural division and mental health issues including exploring how engagement with social media can contribute to anxiety.

The second project we work together on is “Girls Stories”; a weekly after school support project for migrant teenage girls who have recently moved to Limerick and usually live with large families in small apartment spaces or in the direct provision system. The workshops are designed to be a safe space away from social media, home, school and living stresses.

Again, we thank you for your continued support in helping disadvantaged children in Ireland and worldwide.
